Main hull

Despite a lot of work, and wind in the twenties the last few days and hence some nice afternoons sailing Frimann (Telstar 26) , I've been able to start the preparations for the main hull building.

Your form frames look very neatly cut. Did you cut these by hand? I had to look twice at the pictures, for a minute it looked to me like you were set up right against the wall! :)

Thank you Grant, they are cut by hand. The frames are not set up against the wall, but it is tight enough for me to encounter close contact with the sharp corner of the shelf on which I have my radio.... Only once this far.

Tor,

how do you heat your workspace in winter, with the electricity prices we have got up here the later years?

I'm using diesel to heat the workshop. Hundreds of liters. And the diesel price is just as high as the electricity. Well, it's a hobby, and I don't keep a record of the expenses. As long as there is money I will build and sail....

Someone once told me a boat is a hole in the water in which you can pour money in.

Interesting! Do you use a diesel heater from a car perhaps?

I am asking becouse I look for ways to heat my workshop in the coming winter. I want to separate the workshop heating from the house electricity bill. I was thinking perhaps a gas heater, but I am wary of wood dust and gas heaters!

You told me this a few years ago. And you were right. (as usual)

I look forward to follow your mainhull build.

Yes, Dag, and with a boat your size I guess it's room for a lot of it!

Rolf, you can see the heater here: http://bp1.blogger.com/_oBDrIU4Ex-A/SBJojJFpmVI/AAAAAAAAA_g/djLp0u0YPfU/s1600-h/DSCN0916.JPG
It's a FOMA 40 kW with separate exhaust. Probably overkill for a garage, but the smaller ones tend to let the exhaust out in the room along with the hot air. I got a good deal on it at my local Byggmakker.
